The DGLAB – Directorate-General for Books, Archives and Libraries depends on the Portuguese Ministry of Culture. It runs the Portuguese system of archives and coordinates the public libraries network. The DGLAB also carries out an integrated policy for books and reading promotion which includes the dissemination of Portuguese Literature abroad.
