The DGLAB supports the promotion of Portuguese authors and of authors from the Portuguese speaking countries (Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, São Tomé, Guinea-Bissau and Timor), exception made to Brazil which has its own funding. It aims to make the work of Portuguese writers and illustrators better known outside Portugal on an enduring base. Classic and contemporary, living and dead authors, the project entails all the literary range of creation and also picture books and comics. The DGLAB is present at the major world book fairs. At the Frankfurt Book Fair and at the Bologna Book Fair on an annual base.
