Portuguese Language Bibliographic Network

 The Portuguese- Language Bibliographic Network  –  Rede Bibliográfica da Lusofonia (RBL) was the book and reading promotion programme for Portuguese - speaking African countries and Timor Lorosae.

 

 

DGLAB gives technical support, together with Camões - Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua , for actions aimed at promoting books and reading. Nowadays, it is Camões Institute that gives finantial support for these programs.

 

ACTION PROGRAMMES UNDERTAKEN: 
   

RECOVERY AND REVIVAL OF NATIONAL AND PUBLIC LIBRARIES. The priority objective was to equip the above institutions with suitable furniture and equipment, and with document collections;

BOOK AND READING PROMOTION AND DISSEMINATION.
Portuguese Book Fairs and other initiatives were held, the aim of which was to promote reading and publicise literary and cultural work;

SUPPORT FOR THE TRANSLATION OF PORTUGUESE-LANGUAGE AFRICAN AUTHORS. Support is granted for the translation and dissemination of works by Portuguese-Language African authors, and for the publication of works proposed by national coordinators in each country.
